Hey there!

I'm Kelly Sjostrom

I made YEARS of minimum payments for my undergraduate student loans. I woke up one day hoping to see the balance nearing zero and I realized I had barely made a dent!

There was no debt payment plan that I found that worked for my life. I still wanted to go to restaurants with friends, travel cross-country with my partner and fur-baby and I didn't want to live on beans and rice.

After creating a plan that helped me eliminate my debt in only 20 months it has become my mission to help others do the same.

Through the power of intentional spending (via a budget), some goals and a little bit of hard work, you too can manage your money, without it managing you!

My Story

I was that person that balanced her checkbook until I was 29 years old. Yes, that meant pen, check register, and holding up the line at Target. Ensuring every penny I had in my account so I wouldn't get an overdraft fee.

I lived like this for years, always stressing about how much money I had and how much money I owed - there had to be a better way.

After realizing how much debt I still had after years of payments,  I learned the ways of the debt-free world. People paying off incredible amounts of debt in 1-3 years and I thought, if they can do it, I CAN!

I guess you could say that I fall in the "over-achiever" bucket. I am usually obsessed with one thing or another, and becoming debt-free was my next big obsession!

In 20 months, I was able to pay down $46,514.91 of debt.

Here we are today, and looking back, I would tell my younger self that there is an easier way.

A way that didn't involve interest payments. A way that involves a little bit of accountability for a lot of happiness. No more stressing about how much money I owed, or had, or didn't have. No more checkbook registers!

Why I Do It

Financial literacy is not something I ever heard growing up. While my parents did their best to provide for our family (I never had to worry about my next meal or getting school supplies) I wasn't a kid to wealthy parents.

As I started to tap into this world of becoming 'debt-free!' I saw that there were easy, clear things everyone could be doing ot instantly enhance their lives and increase wealth.

It wasn't fair that everybody wasn't in on these secrets!

Once I was debt-free, I realized that the methods I used to pay off debt could be replicated by almost anyone. So I made it my mission to help as many people as possible create healthy financial habits and a better life for themselves and their families.
